Presentations:
The presentation of preliminary results to relevant stakeholders (Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives, ADB, The Asia Foundation, local Jamu Associations etc.) through annual research workshops in Indonesia will be an integral part of the research process, and we expect to learn from, and report on, the new insights this dialogue will generate.
Workshops:
A research workshop, at the end of the second and third year of the project will be held at the Universitas Gadjah Mada and at the University of Ottawa. These research workshops will serve a similar purpose, and will include representatives from the Canadian International Development Agency and the International Development Research Centre. Members of the research team will communicate findings individually in the form of graduate and undergraduate theses (in the case of students working on the research), working papers, and conference presentations.
Website Reports:
The research team will post working papers and workshop discussion reports to a program website to be hosted at the University of New Brunswick through the International Development Centre and linked to Universitas Gadjah Mada as a means of communication and to encourage further debate.
Publishing:
Prof. Laplante, Prof. Koumari and Prof. Torri will co-author a monograph based on this research, and also publish in peer reviewed journals. We are committed to translating the monograph and some key articles and working papers into two local languages (Indonesian and Javanese).
